After writing an essay for the film 'The Power Of One' we needed to make a screencasting to describe and explain how at least 4 film aspects (such as lighting, camera angles, music, etc.) show meaning in ‘The Power of One’ by John G. Avildsen.

To support my learning I ask you to comment as follows:
1. Something positive - something you like about what I have shared.
2. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say
3. Something thoughtful - how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.

great effort selepa, well explained, and detailed
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this one! I like the way you explained everything well and detailed.
ReplyDeleteI love how you used a power point to help your statements and the background music. Very clever. Your paragraphs are very descriptive. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! you seem like you put lots of effort on this work. I really like how you put some effects to make your presentation cool. Keep up the good work:)
ReplyDeleteWell done for your work Selepa! The video you made gives more understanding about film aspects especially how you talked about how make up and facial expression is used. Looking forward for your next blog posts :)
ReplyDeletegreat explaning all the film aspects. and i learnt a lot during this screencastify. one thing that you can do better is maby read the things that you would be reading out a few more times
ReplyDeleteOutstanding! I like the way you explained everything also the minor details to show what were explaining.
ReplyDeletehi! you have made a wonderful screencastify. I like the way you presented your film aspects
ReplyDeleteSelepa; This is a VERY good Screencastify - well done! I love that you took up the challenge of putting in the optional introduction and conclusion, and I love that you included background music and arrows to make it even better. Malo lava. Something to consider next time would be stating the linked aspect (which you did), but then fully describing it, and then explaining the effect that it had in that part of the film. However, this is a GREAT Screencastify and would pass Level 1 NCEA, probably with Merit, too! A great example of year 10 creative excellence :)
ReplyDeleteKia ora Selepa,
ReplyDeleteI watched the Power of One years ago and after listening to your screencastify I am really keen to go and watch it again. Thanks for sharing the 4 film aspects that you noticed in the movie and explaining the purpose of each aspect. You have spoken really clearly and I have a good understanding of each aspect after listening to your examples. Keep up the great work and sharing it on your blog. I am working with a group of teachers today after school and I am going to show the your screencastify as a great example to inspire them.

Talofa Selepa, You have done a great job of explain the purpose of different video effects. I remember reading the book version of The Power of One. A great book so I imagine the movie will be powerful as well. This will be a great example to show the learners I work with at Campion College who are just starting blogging.
ReplyDeleteWell done,
Mrs Krausse
Talofa Selepa.. this is such good work. I enjoyed watching it. It is instructive and well constructed, and I have learned a lot about film technique from watching it. I can tell you have worked hard, and given this a lot of careful thought. Keep this up.. believe in your own abilities.
ReplyDeleteKia ora Selepa,
ReplyDeleteYou have created an interesting and informative presentation. I also really like that you have included what the screencast is about below - this helps me as a reader understand what I am about to watch. I wonder what other films John G. Avildsen has created and whether they were as powerful emotionally?
Keep up the great work,
Miss Morgan
Kia ora Selepa,
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting and informative screencast. You have outlined really clearly your understanding and connections around film and the film shots. It has been many years since I've watched The Power of One and read the book. I was especially interested in the information around the screen shots, as I have a class of students who will be creating digi award movies and they need to understand some of these things. I hope it is ok for me to show them.
Keep up the amazing work
