The Growing NZ Innovation Chanllange

Introduction
At the start of Term 3, we were put into groups in threes and our teacher set us a task to pick which challenge we should solve. Each group have chosen different challenges and we all have to make a presentation about it. My group Me, Selena and Hillary chose 'How to save water for a severe drought'. Straight after that, we went on our Chromebooks/computers and started some research about where farmers get their water from. We can use different sites to create our presentation and we had to include two different types of enablers. My group chose to use the site called 'MySimpleShow' to explain how we are going to save water for a severe drought and used Network & Sensors and Irrigation system for our enablers. We also created a slideshow to show the class what we've been up to and to put our link of Mysimpleshow we made. Our solution was to have a huge tank with a roof that can open and shut. The roof will open to let the rain go in and once it's reached the amount of water we need it will automatically close, using a tablet Bluetooth onto the farmers phone.

Click HERE to check out our simpleshow of our solution so I wouldn't have to explain it.
And here is the image we created using the site called 'Tinkercad', we haven't quite finished but at least we finished our video.

My Reflection
What I've learnt while making our presentation is that, planning a solution is actually pretty hard. To be honest, I though it was going to be easy and I was looking forward to do it, but then once I hopped on the computer and was told what to include in our presentation, I was like "Bruh, explain that again please" We got to the point where we have to do our finishing touches, we were actual worried because we haven't thought it through of what enablers we should use. But later that night, Me and Selena had the effort to finish it off and chose Irrigation system and Network & Sensors for our enablers. I felt so happy because I stopped worrying. It's a feeling when you perform on stage with stage fright, but once it's over everyone cheered for you and you felt good.
When we performed me and Selena thought we hadn't done enough but looking at everyone's work it's pretty much similar, just with different ideas and different ways of presenting. We all had good compliments and feedback from the teacher which was a great feeling. Each group have to write feedback to the group who is presenting, but not allowed to feedback themselves.
Next time, If I do something like this, since I've experienced it, I'm gonna try harder.

Game App Design

Final App Blog

Introduction
This Term, we were put into groups to choose which app we should make. Me and my group chose to make a game app. Each group used a app design site to help create the app they're choosing. My group made our app using the site Code.org. Code.org is where you can code your app/game and design. Before we made it, we planned our game using the site called Coggle. I already posted my group's Coggle on my blog, you can scroll down and have a look at it. The game we chose to create was a scary, action, adventures and survival game. It was interesting because at the start of this term we were going to plan on doing a regular game, but ended up planning a scary game. How we ended up with a scary, adventures, action, survival game was by sharing our ideas and thoughts which we combined.  Hillary liked make-up, anime game and me and Selena was like "Yeh nah", then found out that hillary liked adventures/survival game, then we ended up with the game we ALL wanted.

The game we did, we didn't do that much, throughout the term when we started creating our app, we were only able to create the settings and the background.

Reflection
While we were coding the game, I've obviously learnt how to code, and different types of coding. I've learnt how to change screens to screens, adding images, and sounds, how to change the sounds and turning it off. I've done some coding and I was surprised what I just created. It was amazing but then, I looked at my groups planned and I thought to myself "that's no way near done" but at least we've done some coding. The reason why we couldn't finish it because, to be honest, we didn't know how to add videos and other things. Planning is easy ,but actual doing it is hard. We were just staring at it and just keep adding images in settings.

My group has done some coding, well just me and Selena. Hillary was just giving us some ideas of what to code. She didn't really code that much, I think because we didn't talk that much. Sometimes, Hillary or Selena would be away from school and it's kinda hard coding with one away, but me and Selena worked well together when Hillary was away.

We couldn't finish our game. I wasn't really happy because, some of the things we wanted for the game couldn't download. We also couldn't find some of the other instructions of how to code. It was pretty disappointing because, we really wanted to make this game just like how we planned it, but instead we only ended up with just the settings of the character and weapons and how to put the sound on and off. Next time, when we do something like this, we need to know how to code new things and look at other sites instead of one.\

Question:
Is planning worth it, if you don't know how to put it into action?
Are you ready to create an app?
Are you willing to make it?

Digital Technology App Design

'Fearing the unknown' a game that you'll never wanna play at night time

Introduction

In Digital Technology, we were put into groups so we could create an app together. Me and my group chose to design a game app. We planned our game by using the site called 'Coggle'.  My teacher Mr Carter gave us some ideas by allowing us to play games on the computer to get ideas from it. The game that me and my group are designing on, is a scary, adventures, action and a survival game.

"My Groups Coggle"

Reflection

The thing I like about this lesson is that, we get to work together as a group, because we got to share ideas and feedback each other. I also like working on the site called Coggle because we can easily think of ideas using the site. The site made it easier for us because of it's layout, as you can see the image above, you can see all our information and ideas about the game we're designing. We added The title of our game, the characters, the genres of the game, all of those things. The thing that kept my group going is by sharing all our ideas together. It was fun because we had a laugh about what we're gonna add into our game. We thought hard because, we wanted to create something different, something new, and most of all, something everyone would enjoy. What I learnt while planning the game, are different things we can include when planning a game design. It was interesting because when I was little I played heaps of games on the computer and wondering how they make it and how they came up with the ideas, and now I know how. The mistake I did was, kept some of my ideas to myself and added to the Coggle, I learnt heaps from it because, when I shared it with my group we came up with more ideas which we all liked. The thing that will make it more challenging for us is, to try and make it different from every other game.

We got this information from the game called 'Until Dawn'by Nik Bowen, and most of it was from our own ideas. We started planning this game on the 28th of March.
We planned the game by using the site called:

Padlet Link

Questions

Now that you've read my blog post;
What did you you find interesting?
Can you think of any ideas about our design?
Do you have any arguments towards it?
Are you willing to create/design a game of your own?

If you are a computer person, you should read this!!!

If you are a computer person, you should read this!!!

My Introduction
Me and my class 10DTE, were doing infographic on Ergonomics. This is to help the people that ends up with sore pain on their necks, shoulders and back after going on their computer.. It tells you how to sit properly and where to place your monitor, arms, shoulders and head. It's really important to follow these steps otherwise you'll damage your musculature, and your body can cause big problems to your health, that ain't healthy.

Sources
I've made mine like this which is down below on the 14/2/18, and where I've got my information was from Wyvern Business Systems - UK.COM. Designed by myThem.es.
I read the information and made it into my own words I've also searched it on google so I could add more information into it
My Reflection
I like doing a infographic because I like the layout of it. I can easily read and understand it. Doing the inforgraphic on ergonomics helped me to learn more about ergonomics, I've learnt that if you drop your neck down but keeping your head straight forward  is causing pain on your neck, shoulder, and back. I've also learnt that you need to put your feet flat on the ground and your legs should be on the same level as your waist and how to make a infographic. I think it's a good idea to post this on my blog so the students could read this because, there are many students in this school that has been through the pains and It's time for them to learn how to get rid of it and how to sit properly and have a better sitting posture.
So After reading this and doing the actions, you'd wanna thank me for blogging this.

So, now thart you've read this,
What have you learnt about this blog?
Will you follow these steps?
Are you going to make a better sitting posture?
or
Are you going to continue the bad habit to cause the pains on your body?
