What would you do....
In my opinion, the more people around you would create hesitation and you would be uncertain to know exactly what to do. The more people around you would make you think that others would ask. But it’s the exact opposite! If you’re by yourself you’d offer to help faster or even without thinking to help. You would randomly ask or jump in. If you were in a huge group you would start to think and hesitate to help. What if you know the people around you you’d still have the confidence to ask for help, but if they were strangers maybe it will stop you from offering to help. In the video only 10 people made it hard for an individual to offer help to the scientist who was struggling to set up a tent. You should have the confidence to ask for help even if there were 20, you should ask yourself ‘what if I were the one everyone was staring at? You’d obviously need help, or you’d be embarrassed, it’s worse than even having to offer for help. You were in a restaurant and saw an old lady drop her plate of salad, would you offer to help if there were 30 people around you?
