I think the story is trying to tell the young ones how the earth is made in there version. How Maui and his brothers were fishing and Maui made the land New Zealand .

I think the story is pretty cool because it fits in the reality . E.g Maui and his brothers were freezing cold, and they turned into huge solid rocks which were the mountains, and the tallest brother was the tallest mountain. Probably mount Averis.

I enjoy the story because it’s really interesting and there’s nothing negative about the story.

Me and my class had to read Maui and the son

I think the story is pretty interesting

I think it's interesting because they've made the story real REAL short but everything made scence. I also think it's funny because the animals attacked Maui and his brothers when they tried to fetch the son. The son was to big and is always up which why Maui wouldn't get enough sleep that's why Maui and his bothers were trying to get him.

I think I'm more like Maui because I always want the sun to go back to sleep so that I would go to sleep or else i'd be cranky.

My Crest

This week my class(9MN) were making our own crest in Social Studies.

We had to think about our family/culture and other things that are important to us.

We also had to write the meaning of each image and the colours that we drew/coloured in each of the boxes in our crest.

My Crests

What I have learnt about crest is that every crest has to represents the family/culture. The colour and the image needs to have a meaning to it.

While I was doing my crest, thought about my family, my culture, Where I live, my 2 favourite sports and my family as a christians.

Top Left

The top left represents my culture, where my family is from. My whole family is from Samoa, that’s why I drew a samoan flag at the top and the patterns.

Top Right

The top right represents my 2 favourite sports. Rugby League & Basketball. I chose to draw my 2 favourite sports because everyone should have fun playing sports even know you’re bad at it.

Bottom Left

The bottom left represents where I live and was born. Christchurch is one of my favourite place to live in because of the nice fresh air, the animals and the colours too.

Bottom Right

The bottom right represents me & my family as christians. We go to church every Sunday unless there’s a distraction or a celebration or a family thing.

We are the children of God and always.
